Time Synchronization for Sustainable Wireless Networks
CFOSynt: Carrier Frequency Offset Assisted Clock Syntonization for Wireless Sensor Networks
Overview
In this project, a timestamp-free syntonization technique, CFOSynt, is designed utilizing carrier frequency offset (CFO). This work was published in IEEE INFOCOM 2017 and presented at IEEE INFOCOM 2017 demo session.
Testbed Design
A testbed was designed to enable scalable ground-truth measurement of clock frequencies and CFO. A detailed description can be found in the IEEE INFOCOM 2017 demo.
Key components of this testbed include:
- WizziMote, TI CC430-based sensor node.
- Keysight N9912A spectrum analyzer: for carrier frequency and RF clock measurement.
- Ettus OctoClock clock distribution module: for scalable clock skew measurement.
- Tektronix MSO3000 oscilloscope: for clock signal measurement.
